Meet Caroline!
Caroline Bergin teaches from the “Know thy Self” philosophy using nature-based tools and skills to expand on human experiences that touch the heart and senses deeply while developing character, self-awareness and community.
With a background in Waldorf Education and over 10 years experience with Outdoor Education working with young people she has touched many with her open heart, passion for learning, sense of humour and love of nature's mysteries. Caroline believes that offering a safe, fun and rich learning environment contributes directly to developing intelligent, adaptable, and resilient children, youth and communities. In 2008, Caroline completed her BA in Community Development from the University of Western Ontario followed by a Teacher's Degree in 2010. She worked at several Waldorf schools in both Ontario, BC and Guatemala. Influenced by her love of nature, she interned as an instructor in 2012 at Toronto’s P.I.N.E. Project, where the mission is to build healthy communities deeply connected to the natural world. Throughout her graduate work Caroline recognized a deep, personal responsibility to incorporate her love of the natural world into education for children and youth and through steadfast determination she launched Foragers School of Nature in Squamish, BC in 2013. Foragers School of Nature is a child, youth and family based organization based in Squamish, BC offering programs that value Earth Stewardship, Self Development and Community Love!
