About ForagersForagers School of Nature is a child, youth and family based organization founded in Squamish, BC.
We aim to offer programming that values Earth Stewardship, Self Awareness and Development while building community based in these values. All programs explore and celebrate nature culture through games and story sharing, hands on experiences, place-based learning and community enrichment. Programs are geared towards students' ability and nurtured from there. The range of learning starts small with nature culture building through sensory awareness games and story sharing and grows towards skills in; carving, animal tracking, shelter building, peace keeping, plant ID, tree ID, navigation, wild food foraging and more. The deepest skill that is learned is the connection one makes with themselves and their natural world; this is very personal, transformative and life long. At Foragers, we have connected with some of the worlds' greatest teachers, models and ancient wisdom to form what we think to be a wonderful and adventurous way to experience our community, the natural world and ourselves. Through story telling, games, song, wild foraging, shelter building and so much more we form a special bond that will be carried with us throughout our lifetime. MissionForagers School of Nature is committed to supporting our planet by creating a program that enhances how we interact with it. We do this by providing children, youth and families the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature and guide them with story, games, wilderness skills and nature adventure.
Who inspires us?The P.I.N.E. Project, Twin Eagles Wilderness School, Soaring Eagle Nature School, and many others have influenced our programming and approach.

We have accumulated all of our favourite modalities, skills, philosophies and experiences to form Foragers School of Nature. A simple and fun culture to live closer to nature. Our skills are developed with these Core Practices!
The programs start every child at an introductory level, building and learning the culture and developing it with age and skill-appropriate activities. Youth ages 5-12 will experience an array of games, stories, survival skills, self awareness and community. Ages 13-17 will have the chance to learn and build there nature skills as stewards and be welcomed as junior mentors to the younger groups. ' WHERE WE LEARN TOGETHER, WE GROW TOGETHER ' |
